Our commitments

Certifications

Triple certification for the Port of Saint-Cast

Every day, the marina of Saint-Cast is committed to balancing quality of service, safety, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and the area’s economic development.

As the port’s operator, the Côtes-d’Armor Chamber of Commerce and Industry pursues a policy of continuous improvement to offer boaters a welcoming, safe, high-performing marina that respects its exceptional environment.

This commitment is recognised through the “Ports Propres Actifs en Biodiversité” (Clean, Biodiversity-Active Ports) and ISO 45001 certifications, reflecting our determination to continually improve our practices — both for environmental protection and for the safety of our users, staff and contractors working on site.

Preserving this remarkable natural heritage is a collective responsibility. That’s why we encourage everyone to adopt good daily habits and to contribute by sharing their comments, suggestions or ideas for improvement.

Together, let’s make the marina of Saint-Cast an ever more welcoming, safer, more environmentally friendly port, geared towards the future.

You can view our full policy on the port’s noticeboards or download it here.

Adopting good practices

To help further, the port provides several information and awareness documents covering best practices in safety, environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. Feel free to consult or download them to adopt the right habits throughout your stay.

Biodiversity, a heritage to protect

At the heart of the Emerald Coast, the marina of Saint-Cast is far more than a stopover — it is also a living space for remarkable biodiversity.

Between land and sea, the port is home to particularly rich flora and fauna. Eelgrass beds — true lungs of our seabed — provide a refuge for many species of fish and invertebrates, while helping maintain water quality and store carbon. On land, landscaped areas and green spaces support numerous plant species and host a diversity of pollinating insects.

Many seabirds also visit the port to rest or feed. Their presence reflects the site’s ecological quality and reminds us of the need to protect these fragile environments.

Aware of this responsibility, the port of Saint-Cast takes concrete action to protect its environment:

  • Preserving eelgrass beds and raising user awareness of their protection;
  • Protecting birdlife, particularly terns, through user awareness campaigns;
  • Ecological management of green spaces and control of invasive alien species;
  • Reducing the risk of pollution in port waters;
  • Raising awareness among boaters and event organisers about good environmental practices;
  • Taking part in actions led by the Rance Valley – Emerald Coast Regional Nature Park in support of coastal biodiversity.

Together, let’s protect this exceptional natural heritage so it remains a treasure for future generations!
